The Green Apartment is a 3,500 sqft residence within a low density set of apartments. Extensive renovation was done to the 4 bedroom apartment, incorporating several important improvements to the space, drawing inspiration from the lush exterior gardens which the common areas face. A dramatic entry was created in response to the landscape; an onyx marble-cladded entry gallery becomes the main feature where solid onyx marble pillars create a screen between the gallery and the main common areas.
An existing sunken reflective pool on the balcony was leveled and floorboards changed, matching thicknesses and colour of the internal common spaces to result in an expansive patio that accentuates and blends seamlessly with the rest of the living and dining spaces, creating over 1,000 sqft of common area. A loftier and more voluminous feel was created in the living and dining rooms by raising the overall ceiling height to 3.7m. The floor plan was reconfigured to free up more walls in bedrooms, offering more efficiency and privacy to bathrooms.
Tying the interiors together were carefully curated and custom designed furniture pieces, unquestionably meeting the client’s brief for a home that is exquisite in material, detailing and furnishing.
