In the recent refurbishment of Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, Brewin Design Office reimagined the beach villas as contemporary retreats that honour the island’s cultural roots.
Drawing on Langkawi’s familial traditions and natural rhythms, the design evokes the warmth of a home layered with intergenerational memory, expressed through vaulted timber ceilings, custom rattan artworks, and carefully curated details.
The result is a series of beachfront sanctuaries where architecture, craft, and local vernacular merge seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, creating spaces that invite connection, restoration, and a deeper sense of belonging.
A focal point of the Master Bedroom, the headboard’s custom rattan weaving pattern evokes heritage while expressing a contemporary design sensibility.
